Refugee Camp Comes to New York City
Doctors Without
Borders is bringing an outdoor exhibit to Manhattan and Brooklyn this September and
October.
Around the world, approximately 33 million people have fled their homes due to war, insecurity and persecution. The MSF exhibit asks visitors to imagine they are among the millions of displaced people, from countries such as Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and North Korea. Visitors are asked to imagine themselves in the situation of the displaced, asking questions such as, 'Will I be safe? What will I eat? How do I find water? Can I get medical care? And where will I live?'
